Nirmik is a cultural centre for dialogue, awareness, creativity and collective action — built with and for marginalised communities through theatre, song, film and a library.

Nirmik Foundation works with marginalized communities through culture and education to help them voice their rights, empower themselves with skills in the performative arts, and reclaim the history of progressive movements in India.
Nirmik was born out of Yalgaar Sanskrutik Manch, a cultural group using song and theatre to promote constitutional values and communal harmony among different communities in Maharashtra. Our cultural, social and educational initiatives are deeply inspired by the songs and poems from the Lok Shayari tradition of Kabir and Sant Ravidas, and are rooted in the constitutional values of liberty, equality and social justice.
